Oh sweet Cherry Blossoms..

The "R" family decided to switch it up this year and do Spring family photos rather than their usual Fall portraits.  I love when families switch up the seasons for their annual family portraits!  It adds a variety to your wall art at home and simply offers a fresh new look than the previous year.

We decided to have their session at Branch Brook Park in Belleville, New Jersey.  I only offer sessions here on weekdays because the weekends are insane!  It's such a beautiful park especially when it's peak season!  However, it wasn't really peak for this session but we made the best of it!  When combining beautiful light, the right angles and settings.. we're golden!  And anyway, your family pictures aren't about the location.. it's about the authentic connection you share ;)

If you think we have our hands full when working with 11 and nine year old boys.. well, you're right!  But, these two have been in front of my camera since the day they were born (spoiler alert, these are my nephews!) and they've taught me a lot about photographing energetic kids.  Are you wondering how I capture their true smiles and not the painful "cheese" smile?  Well, I spend most of the time talking about smelly farts and crusty boogers!  I know, it's kind of crazy that when you invest in a professional photographer she talks about things like that but when the final outcome are smiles like you see below.. you know you're in good hands!

Cherry Blossom season may be over here in Bergen and Essex County, New Jersey but there are plenty of beautiful aspects of Spring to take advantage of for your Family Portrait Session!
