I am so lucky to have clients who trust me from beginning to end.  This includes choosing a location or really I should say.. making ANY location work.

I don't want to say it was our "priority".. but choosing to have this session at Branch Brook Park in Belleville, New Jersey while the cherry blossoms were in bloom was a a top goal of the session.  But, the weather is unpredictable.. it's not in our hands.

These beautiful trees have a mind of their own!  They don't bloom or hit peak at the same exact time every year.  The temperature, location and rainfall are all components of when these trees show off.

There's only so much mutual availability between a photographer and client.. so the day that worked best for me and these two beauties didn't really fall during peak.  But, once we started shooting.. the trees didn't matter.  Their connection is what mattered.  That is what mom wants to hold on to with her mini-me.  Not, how pretty the trees were in the background of their 2025 session.

I guess what I'm trying to say is.. location doesn't matter.  It shouldn't be what drives you to do a session.  Wanting to freeze these little moments with your family is what should drive you to do a session.

The hugs, kisses, snuggles, dancing, hand holding, quiet moments, silly moments and simply all around love for one another is the key to a successful session.  These moments fly by too quickly, right?  I am so glad we kept our session date even though we missed peak bloom.  The magic we created outweighs that.

Just remember.. it's not what the location looks like or even what you look like.. it's what you want to FEEL when looking back at your photos.
